Not the first time someone mentions NFO on this forum, but there was no response the first time! Give it a listen if you love 70s music that sound fresh without actually copying anything! There cd "Internal Affairs" (2012) is excellent! Their influences: Kiss, Alice Cooper, Bob Seger, The Temptations, Bruce Springsteen, Boston, Journey, Mother's Finest, Deep Purple, Bjorn Skifs, Whitesnake, Sweet, Fleetwood Mac, Steely Dan

Well, I shouldn't complain...
I'm not very active here either!
By the way, what do you think of Rival Sons' and The Darkness' new albums?

Re: The Night Flight Orchestra!
at first i didnt like the new rival sons that much ,the sound is even more retro and leaning towards psychedelic bluesrock much more then their last one,but it is a grower,i like it more and more each day,so i really like it nowPerG wrote:Well, I shouldn't complain...I'm not very active here either!

Re: The Night Flight Orchestra!
Actually, I check out quite a bit of the "new" music put forth on this site. And have found many good bands/artists that way! I don't usually comment on them unless it is something that I like, though... my bad.
NFO sounds very promising and I'll probably try to pick up their CD. Thanks for the introduction to the music!
In the spirit of giving - has anybody heard of a band called The Magnificent? Really good melodic rock. Nothing ground breaking, but well-played,sung and arranged. Good hooky choruses through-out. I guess the singer and guitarist/producer are apparently somewhat well-known in Europe with other (separate) bands. Worth checking out.

Hmmmm, very interesting. A little heavier than I usually listen to, but there is a definite vibe there I like.
Thanks for the tip!

Re: The Night Flight Orchestra!
A long time since my last post... but you have to check out NFO:s latest release "Sometimes The World Ain't Enough" (released june 29 2018) which actually is doing well in the charts in Europe. REAL songwriting that's so rare these days. Their previous album "Amber Galactic" was nominated for a Grammy award in Sweden. Going to see NFO in Stockholm in November!
Re: The Night Flight Orchestra!
Sounds good Per...
thanks for sharing.
ps. in my opinion REAL songwriting is not so rare these days...
it just isn't exposed anymore by radio, tv and other media...
but I'm sure you know that...
I am very happy to know current bands and projects like A.C.T, Mostly Autumn, Panic Room, Ayreon, Moon Safari, Stolen Earth/Cloud Atlas, etc.

Re: The Night Flight Orchestra!
You're right of course, the good music is still out there (for interested listeners like us!
) but they rarely get any credit in sales or top hits anymore. People seem to be happy with the massproduced junk that's infesting every pub, bar and store around the world. Or aren't they..?
