article from Prog Magazine : how prog were City Boy ?

Post by 1after2 » Wed Oct 14, 2015 12:58 am

Found in TeamRock / Prog Magazine, thanks to the City Boy Facebook group :

an article about City Boy, and an interview with Mike Slamer, from October 2015.

https://www.teamrock.com/features/2015- ... s-city-boy

You'll have to sign up, but the base registration is free of charge.
This will give you free access to 3 magazine articles per month, so this will disclose the City Boy topic. :-)

ps. on the same website there is a very brief review of the recent double CD's.
It was written by someone who doesn't like, or doesn't understand City Boy.
So you'll better not waste your credits on this one...

I have already wasted my time on the review of the recent reissues. So enjoy the main article and interview with Mike but skip the reviews just like TS suggests.

Thought the article was sympathetic to them, if a little lazy. I've seen the Queen / 10cc comparisons trotted out before.

I've seen City Boy slagged off in Classic Rock in the past - perhaps like the CD reviews (which I won't bother with!), so this was refreshing.
