Hi

Yes, it's a possibility but the link "ex City Boy" is not as strong as ex-ELO,Supertramp,Styx,etc.

We're talking of a band that has been inactive during 30 years and only had a top 10 hit 33 years ago.
We know that the market for a City Boy album is not big enough, but if you released with other name and link it as ex City Boy you have less chances to market it.

For me the only chance is using the name City Boy and besides they should re-record a new version of 5705 to promote the new album.

Cheers
Sebastian

A reunion of the "It's Personal" line-up would do it for me :-)
I was overjoyed when I finally found it on CD!

The best line-up, and quite possibly their best album - for me, anyway!

How about "Two City Boys" as a name for the band?

As a reminder to the mainstream people, not the die hard old fans, perhaps a new version of 5705, logically called 5705 2011 (or 2012 depending on when the new cd is actually going to be released), could serve as a reminder to those people who they are. Many of those not die hard fans might otherwise respond with: What? City who? Never 'eard of 'em!

Perhaps Max and Roy can get together with that City Boy fellow so he can rap over the new 5-7-0-5 version... :yikes:

Maybe they can even get that rapper who calls himself cityboy? They can even sell it as City Boy feat. cityboy. :))

City Boy + City Boy = City Boys (or should it be City Boyz?)

It could even be the start of a new sub-genre, gangsta-rok? :yikes: :))

It also occurred to me later that City Boy was not the only band-name pinched by rappers. There's also some rapper/s called The Streets. That's also some kind of CB related, sort of. What comes next? Back in the hood? :))
