TDTECF Video

Post by Stefan » Thu Dec 21, 2006 4:43 pm

You will not believe it, but the Museum of Modern Art in New York had the "missing" TDTECF video (that we discussed with Elmar in the Slamer interview thread) in an exhibition or programme in November this year!!!?!? Nobody saw that...

Go to www.moma.org and search for city boy, or read page 13 of http://www.moma.org/exhibitions/documen ... .Final.pdf

It seems like there is an existing documentary in the States that contains our video !! Can anybody over the atlantic try to trace that?

Great finding!

Music Film Clips
A retrospective screening of Statler’s New Wave film clips, including Graham Parker, Protection (1979); City Boy, The Day the Earth Caught Fire (1979); The Time, Cool (1981); DEVO, Love Without Anger (1981); Pere Ubu, Love, Love, Love (1989); Tiny Tim, Paddle Your Own Canoe (1993); and The Wipeouters, Twist ‘n’ Launch (2001). 93 min.

Wow, the director of the TDTECF video was Chuck Statler. He should know how to obtain a copy, shouldn't he?

One of the versions of "What a Night" on Youtube is obviously a recording from "Scene 79" by German station Bayrischer Rundfunk (where they were followed up by one "Noosha Fox"... :-0)

Anyway, Scene 79 might be a good place to start looking for the video...

Cheers,

Elmar/syzygy

Wow! WOW! I never thouht I'd see this!

Rito, maybe you can send the owner of the video a message and he can give/send you the video so you can keep it as a permanent part of this site!

I would love to download it so I could watch it anytime I wanted to!

FINALLY !! T h a n k Y o u for sharing this link with us all Per...

and another big thanks to -=Todd=- :D for helping me find a way to save some of these "YouTube" treasures !! I used "KeepVid" also for the first time today - I'd never heard of it until you mentioned it here. Now I can save all of those old Rush clips, Supertramp, BOC, UK, Genesis, etc... so many things I've found in there.

P.S. Genesis tickets for thier "Turn It On Again Tour" sold out in a few hours (for the San Jose Pavillion show). I'm now waiting for my favorite Bay Area prog radio show to announce the free ticket phone-in...

This video is for the single which is much shorter than the LP version, and, oh yes, where much of Slamer's work is excluded.

I would even say it's like finding the Holy Grail! This is an historic moment for the Rito Board!

Thanks for this treasure, Per!
