Re: When your favorite band sounds like another

Dave, your comments may be what I'm remembering. Would you happen to be one of those people who refer to Marillion as a "Poor Man's Genesis" ? and if so, does that mean that you would rather to have never heard it ? To me, Spock's Beard is a far better band than Gentle Giant, though GG is high on my...

Re: Uriah Heep - Sonic Origami

It really IS a great album... every track a winner !!
One great opening track (and one of my favorites overall) is from UH's '95 release "Sea Of Light" called "Against The Odds". I usually open with that when making a UH compilation (of the newer stuff).
I miss David Byron (who passed away a fe...

When your favorite band sounds like another

I was reading through some comments a few months ago where there were some negative points made when one band sounded like another. It may have rubbed one guy the wrong way, but I don’t mind it when similarities arise. Some great music has come out where that comment could be made. But does it...

Re: CD Collections

I got on the website to check it out. It looks like this would be a great improvement over just listing CD's in Excel.
Thanks for the recommendation !!
NP: Uriah Heep "Sonic Origami"

Re: The Greatest Album Ever Told

That makes more sense I suppose. It would be tough though... I'd have to make a special mention per album for those songs that wouldn't rank in the top 10, but still songs that I couldn't live without.

Re: The Greatest Album Ever Told

Hi all,

I've got to stick to what I've thought all along (and thanks to Richard for the copy of IP, my newest acquisition). I can now finally finish my list. TDTECF has been in my overall "Top 10" since I first heard it. BE and CB are a near tie as is HAR and IP. It's ALL good though...
...

Re: what a goldmine!!

I'm relatively new compared to the 4-5 years that some of you have been here, but I've been checking in a few times a week for over a year now and agree that the people here have a real friendship. It's not like some of the other sites I've travelled through. We're lacking rudeness and blatent disre...

Re: LANGUAGE / COUNTRY

Good idea... it's nice to know a little bit about each other.
I was born and raised just south of San Francisco, age 41, still live in the S.F. Bay Area. Family roots are English, Danish, Welsh, with a touch of German, French & Swedish - though Japanese is the major language spoken at home. My...
