Re: The Beatles

Hey Dave,
I would agree to a very small extent that they are somewhat over-rated. But I do like the White album quite a bit. In fact it is their later stuff I like, not their earlier pop-music kind of stuff.
I could never pick a 'best' Beatle's song or album as there is quite a lot to choose fr...

CB goes to Mars

I would first of all like to thank DaDrew for the CB CDs he burned for me. I had never heard the band's live performances before, nor had I ever heard the It's Personal album, and I've been a fan since 1977. Thanks again, DaDrew!
I spent the day at work today with various CB songs going through m...

Re: Another musical experience

Re: Another musical experience

I have seen a movie that was supposed to be about the band Stillwater, maybe a couple of years ago. For some reason I thought at the time that I remembered a band by that name from the early 70s. After seeing your post, I logged onto Amazon.com, and behold, there are a couple of CDs listed, and some...

fear of reprisal

I may be walking the plank on this topic, but here goes.

In the early 90s, while in search of new music and feeling left out in the cold by the demise of the great bands of the 70s I grew up with, I stumbled upon a new-to-me genre of music popularly known as 'country' music here in the land...

Re: A Musical Void

Yep, I'm right there too, everybody. I hate today's music. The 70s/80s was about orchestration and arrangement. Instilling that element to music took hard work and lots of time. Today's young musicians just don't want to work that hard.
Yesterday's musicians have produced some new music recently ...

Drew,
No problem, I'll gladly burn something in trade for IP-burn. I don't have a heck of a lot on CD though, mostly 70s i.e. Fleetwood Mac, Eagles, ELO...Let me know.
Al

Re: cb and elo

Thanks for the info, Andy, I'll check out your suggestion. In case you may not of heard the CD yet, check out ELO's 'ZOOM' CD from 2001. Great music! Jeff Lynne had to cancel the tour here in the U.S. last year because there was't enough interest. Guess everybody wants Hip Hop music.

City Boy recorded music

Does anybody know where I can obtain albums/CDs/tapes of CB's music beyond 'The Day The Earth Caught Fire?' I have everything from that album back...but I want MORE! How about a City Boy revival!

Re: cb and elo

Funny you should notice the CB/ELO similarities! It just so happens that both CB and ELO are two of my all-time favorites. ELO since 1976 and CB since 1978. I've been waiting for great music to make a comeback; I know... the sun is going to burn out before there is a return of well-written music aga...
