Re: Spooky Tooth

While Gary Wright's solo career was a bunch of albums that boycotted guitars, he eventually did do an album that was done in traditional 70s fashion with guitar playing.
I bought all of his keyboard-focused albums but never the guitar-based album. A friend of mine bought it but I seem to recall t...

Re: Super Hits Of The 70's (Post 4 of 12)

Damn, I can't believe all the great songs there were from the 70s. I kind of forget about many of them until they come up again, like in your lists, Lee G.
I noticed there were 3 former Beatles represented in this list. Their solo music was very important to me. I bought many of their albums and 4...

Re: Spooky Tooth

I did not know that, Lee G. Foreigner is one of my favorite bands. Only time I ever got to see them in concert was in 1978 with ELO and Journey.
What a concert that was.
I think Foreigner 4 is their best album.

Re: New England

By the way, 1after2, thanks for the correct spelling on Klaatu.
Hey Dave, what did you think of Spooky Tooth? Am I wrong in saying in was 'out there?' I mean WAAAYYY out there.
Also, Dave, it's a sure bet you would like New England. I would put their Explorer Suite lp. in a top 10 best list o...

Re: New England

Hey guys, speaking of Klaatu sounding like the Beatles, how about the album 'Deface The Music,' by Todd Rundgren and Utopia. That album also was intended to pick up on the Beatles sound.
I was never a todd fan, but that album is pretty good.

Re: New England

Hi Cockatootoo,
I remember that hysteria, too, about whether the band was the Beatles or not when the debut album appeared.
Is the band name spelled Klattu, or Klatuu? I seem to recall the latter.
Anyway, regarding my previous message and the band I could not recall...it was Starcastle!!
la...

Re: Spooky Tooth

Hello Cockatootoo,
Actually, Spooky Tooth wasn't anything like Gary Wright's solo music. I felt his solo stuff was damned good, in fact, I used to have almost all of his lps.
Spooky Tooth, however, was far from the mainstream. It was almost like chanting music. Listening to a couple of songs wa...

Spooky Tooth

I was just curious if anyone recalls the band, Spooky Tooth. I had one of their albums, once, but I don't know what ever happened to it.
Gary Wright was in that band, though I'm not sure if it was his band, or if he was just a part of it.

Re: New England

NE did have some excellent songs. I really like the song Alone Tonight. Also, when the Explorer Suite lp. came out, it was all I could listen to for a couple months. I wore that out years ago though.
Were they from the US, or from the UK?
The singer sounds English.
Hey Gary, I have never hea...
