Re: City Boy song of the week - Life On The Balcony

Glad I picked a song everyone likes ! I too can't help but wonder what HAR would have been like with SB and CD. Or, for that matter, what other great songs we'd be reminiscing about now if they all stayed together for a few more albums.

City Boy song of the week - Life On The Balcony

Hi All Hope you don't mind if I start off this week's song. I'd like to submit "Life On The Balcony." I think this song is absolutely haunting and bone chillingly beautiful. I love the piano intro and the way Lol sings so emotionally. Then Mike's guitar riffs dualing with the vocals that l...

Re: City Boy song of the week - The World Loves A Dancer

I just listened to BE a couple days ago and "The World Loves A Dancer" really caught my ear in a way it never has before. Really great CB tune! "Moving In Circles" and "Dangerous Ground" had the same new effect on me. Not sure why.

Re: CITY BOY SONG OF THE WEEK - SUMMER IN THE SCHOOLYARD

I've been busy these last few weeks and haven't had time to stop in here much. Time to get caught up.

To be honest, "Summer in the Schoolyard" is one of my least favorite CB songs. Don't know why. The melody just never did much for me.

Re: HOW OFTEN DO YOU LISTEN TO CITY BOY SONGS ?

I've been listening a lot again since I found this forum. But before that it was hardly ever. It's been great listening again. The songs sound new. And I love the live tracks in the vault. In my opinion Ambition and 5000 Years should have went down in rock history with the likes of Stairway To Heave...

Re: Something I haven't seen in 30 years...City Boy in the racks

What's especially amazing is it appears to be a few different cd's there in the rack, not just Book Early!
That is so cool.
And let's hope for a reunion!

Roy Ward contact?

A recent comment to the YouTube 5705 video says Roy lives close to the person who posted it. I tried to create a YouTube account but it's not working. Don't know why. Perhaps someone here can reply and ask him to nudge Roy to come here and say hi ???? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9SiuhGv10nk

Wow, how did I miss that staff page? I thought I did a thorough search. Good job Jo.
What is "supply Teaching" ? Are you going to send the school an email?

Re: Did you know...

I looked at the school's web site. http://www.monksparkschool.org.uk/ They don't have a listing of the faculty so I looked through most of the pages looking for some mention of Max. I didn't find any but they didn't seem to mention the names of any of the instructors. Think it would be inappropriate...

"It's Personal" - I got it!

It is with Extreme Thanks to Martin that I now have a copy of "It's Personal." He sent me a copy all the way from the other side of the Atlantic. He even copied the cover artwork! Thanks Martin! I'm really warming up to this album. Some of the tunes I instantly liked. Others are still grow...

Re: New here but old City Boy fan

Hi laurelei That name does sound familiar. But those memory cells have lots of cobwebs on them. NY radio just isn't what it used to be anymore. There isn't one station that plays anything but top 40 or rap/ hip hop and the like. You have to hit the NJ college stations to find anything outside the co...

Re: New here but old City Boy fan

Thanks! That was great reading. All of it was like a great novel. Max really has a way with words. I'll say a prayer that he's OK. I remember meeting him after a show. It was one of the shows that's on the live track downloads. I can't believe I have a copy of that show! It was the one in NY at the ...
