Re: Did something happen to Roger Kent?

OK, more info from our intrepid roadie and lighting guy, Dave Smith: "Bob Neal was an old pal of Roy's and was his drum roadie. Sadly Bob also died some years ago in tragic circumstances. The story of Roger dying came from Roy, he'd heard from a friend of a friend etc."

Re: Did something happen to Roger Kent?

Just to set the record straight regarding City Boy Drummers. Roger was asked to leave the band because Mutt told us point blank that he would not produce any more albums for us after DATR if we didn't find a replacement for him. That didn't happen immediately so Mutt recommended we employ Tony "Anim...

Re: City Boy UK Support

I haven't been on here for a while so have just seen this. After a bit of crafty digging through the trusty......and maybe even musty diaries I have established that we played the Free Trade Hall in Manchester on October 8th 1975 whilst on the "Rocktober" tour supporting Thin Lizzy and String Driven...

Re: 40th Anniversary of the first two albums

OK, the mighty Duck has consulted his sacred diaries and has some answers to your mysteries!!! The following dates only apply to the UK unless otherwise noted. A single was released on 10/3/75 which I assume was "Shake My Head And Leave". The first album was released 2/20/76. The second single: "Doc...

Re: New live recording discovered in KBFH vaults!!!

Yes, Cafe Campus on December 19th 1978. The concerts that I have copies of are Barbarella's, Birmingham, UK, December 14th 1976; then Boston, Chicago, and simulcasts from The Bottom Line in NYC and My Father's Place in Roslyn, Long Island New York. As far as I am aware these are all available on thi...

Re: TV Appearances

Question for Chris. So how did it fly with Roy and Steve when Steve was being placed out front there and miming Roy's vocals. Ummmm, whose idea was that? Jo 8) A man's gotta do what a man's gotta do......the frikkin' song was a hit and it was sung by the bloody drummer per Mutt's insistence...........

Re: Release dates

Re: Breaking News: CITY BOY AT THE BEEB IN 1975

A good find, mein heir! I checked the trusty diaries and discovered that we recorded the BBC "In Concert" gig at the Paris Theatre on December 11th 1975. At the bottom of the page in the diary I see some rather confusing notes......61 gigs in 1975.....73 so far (Must be total since inception) 107 re...

Re: CB Tidbit

and the DATR design is very "Queenish" too) Actually I think it has more of Supertramp's clever artwork over it. Perhaps no coincidence as photo is by Paul Wakefield, who also was involved in many of the Supertramp covers. It was indeed clever to pull off a stunt like that 25 years before anyone kn...
