Supper's Ready - the illustrated version

I just found this video yesterday and just have to share it with everybody. Why pick Supper’s Ready for your film? From my very first listen, I knew I'd want to illustrate this song someday. From its technical eloquence to the band's pageantry in performing it live, Supper's Ready weaves so many str...

Re: Talk of a reformation of City Boy

Since pre-CB was called BITB (Back in the band), perhaps post-CB could be re-named WLOTF (What's left of the band)? |: There is, weirdly, a Back in the Band doing gigs in Birmingham at the moment. Some old geezers doing cover versions of all sorts of stuff. Have you had any chance to listen to them...

Re: new production by Steve

I can't agree more to that. I can't stand that type of music at all. I'm glad Steve found his rock'n'roll heart again.

Re: City Boy on YouTube

I usually take the chance to plug one of my favourite bands of all time. As long as there is one of two videos still I can always post one of those, although it might not be any of my favourite songs. But when that door also has been closed, I can just mention their name. Nothing else. But nothing i...

City Boy on YouTube

For years there have been a lot of stuff on YT. But recently they have started to disappear one after another. Anyone has any idea what is going on? Same old copyright infringement shit that has been going on for years and years? I don't understand how this could even count as piracy as it is hard t...

Re: RIP John Wetton & Overend Watts

I was shocked when I first read it. Wasn't that long ago I heard someone say he had recovered from his cancer. I know that it can come back with a vengeance unfortunately. Perhaps that was what happened? When Daevid Allen died they gave him at least 6 months or so. Then he died shortly after he had ...

RIP John Wetton & Overend Watts

Looks like Anno Domine 2017 also are going to be a year of great culling. :( John Wetton has died at the age of 67. The news was confirmed by his manager Martin Darvill, who said that the cause had been colon cancer. Wetton had undergone major surgery in 2015 to have a one-kilo malignant mass remove...

Re: Interview with Mike Slamer

I knew this one for a few years already, but nevertheless nice to post it here Robin. It triggered me to re-listen to it. I think Mike was more friendly and more willing to talk about his City Boy years, compared to the other interview (with Elmar). And early life plus City Boy consumed ne...

Re: Interview with Mike Slamer

I found another one. Mike Slamer discusses his life and career. From his early days to the 5 albums he recorded with Producer Mutt Lange (with the band City Boy), why he was thanked in Def Leppard's 'Pyromania', his secret session playing on the first two Warrant releases, and most of his other band...

Re: New City Boy cover

I've never heard of the band before. But I noticed they had also made a Streets-cover. So they are probably fan boys of Mike S. Nice find anyhow.

Re: Intervirw with Chris about his closing Dreamhire

Yeah, I loved the interview too. We are not spoiled to get them too often. Two interviews in a short space and the Steve interview for radio last year. I also noticed that Chris was younger than the others. I thought they were all born 1950. But I guess I was wrong. I hope he had fun in the schoolya...

Re: Interview with Mike Slamer

I have only been here for 10, soon to be 11 years. I do remember you have mentioned his wife some years ago and possibly some other members son being active here, both before my time unfortunately. However, I have a feeling that it was the tensions in the band ca 78-79 that makes it hard for them to...

Re: Intervirw with Chris about his closing Dreamhire

Thanks Jo. I found the full, six pages long interview with Chris via the Dreamhire website : http://www.sonicscoop.com/2016/08/15/exit-interview-chris-dunn-decision-close-dreamhire/ The interview is only a few months old... the closing of Dreamhire is planned for June 2017. This is also a nice page...

Re: Interview with Mike Slamer

In 2006 internet was still fairly young. Having only existed for about a decade at that point. For the first decade dial-up was most common. Broadband came much later. When Mike made the interview, broadband had only been around for a few years. Most internet users were still teenagers and in their ...

Re: Intervirw with Chris about his closing Dreamhire

That is a good idea doing voice-overs. There are some good voice-over actors out there like John DiMaggio and Michael Gough. I would probably buy the game if Chris is in it even if the game is not really my cup of tea. I once bought a game only because Art Bell was in it. :D
