Re: 40 Years Ago Today The Earth Caught Fire!
A GREAT album! One of my all time favorites (by any band)! Couldn't agree more... A top-5 could be (in no particular order): City Boy - The Day The Earth Caught Fire (or Dinner At The Ritz) Beatles - Abbey Road (or Revolver) Queen - A Night At The Opera (or A Day At The Races) Kansas - Leftoverture...

Re: R.I.P. Lol Mason
I have thought about the same as Mikael. So many has died in just a few short years. I'll try to recount some at least. Lemmy, Keith Emerson and Greg Lake the same year. George Duke, Jon Lord, Maurice White, Richie Havens, Chris Squire, John Wetton, Prince, George Michael, Amy Winehouse. Some of th...

Re: The first four albums: New reissues due in July.
Got the two expanded double-CD's the other day. The B-sides and Turn On To Jesus are well known to us "City Boy nerds" - but nice to see them on an official CD. Cool to hear the BBC live tracks, and the alternative endings to Sunset Boulevard and 5000 Years/Don't know, Can't tell. It would have been...

Far better than the original It's Personal cover
And for Queen - Hot Space is by far the least good (worst) Queen album and cover ever

Re: Styx(again!)
"Cornerstone" and "Pieces Of Eight" are the highlights in my opinion - truly ahead of their time - and still holds their quality some 35 years later....
Overall Styx one of my favorite US bands of the 70's along with Boston, Eagles and Kansas.
Rock On....

Mike Slamer - Seventh Key
The long awaited 3rd Seventh Key album will be out november first. The album ("I Will Survive") will feature Billy Greer on vocals - and Mike Slamer on guitars, bass, keyboards - and of course a spot-on production with clear references to both "Kansas" and "Streets" Rock On !! Oh... and by the way -...

Re: Rate The Album - Cornerstone by Styx
"Cornerstone" was the very first album I bought with Styx, and is still a favorite of mine in the Styx cataloque - I guess only "Pieces Of Eight" are slightly better. Songs like "Borrowed Time" and "Boat On The River" are classic Styx prog songs I can listen to over and over again. "Babe" ! ? - A de...

Beth Hart turns 40
Today Jan. 24, 2012, Beth Hart turns 40.
Rock music is more or less "a mans world" - so I guess it's suitable to cellebrate the best female rock vocal of all time.

Live And Dangerous
Documentary can be educating - At least for me watching a documentary about T. Rex/Marc Bolan the other day. I've never really been that much into T.Rex/Marc Bolan (back then in the early 70's in Denmark it was either Sweet or Slade you had to be 100 % dedicated to - so T.Rex wasn't really an option...

Top 3 of 2011: City Boy - Zellas Demos Chris Ousey - Rhyme & Reason Tim Christensen & The Damn Crystals However - I must admit, that I mostly bought elder albums (Kansas, Status Quo, Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers, Journey, Paul Stanley, Slade and others). Somehow I got stock in the 70's and artis...
